Breaking: 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Wagon Leaked!
Were you expecting not to see the new C63 AMG Wagon until March at the Geneva Motor Show? Join the club. Much to Mercedes best efforts, photos and specifications for the new 2012 C63 sedan and wagon have been leaked. Perhaps the biggest news is what hasn’t changed with Merc’s M3-fighter…its 6.2L V8 heart. AMG decided to keep their M156 6.2L V8 with a 451 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque rather than shoe-in the all new M157 bi-turbo 5.5L V8 found in the new CLS63 and S63 AMG. As with the last C63, expect the Development Package to increase output to 487 horsepower and allow for a terminal velocity of 174 mph. With this package, this high displacement wagon can reach 62.5 mph in a blistering 4.5 seconds. Another significant change is the transmission, as the 2012 C63 ditches the old torque converter for Merc’s new 7-speed MCT with AMG Speedshift. In the styling department, the C63 has adopted SL-style headlights, LED daytime running lights, a new front fascia, and revised 18-inch wheels.
